Hi,

I try to reinstall Vista on my system (in fact vista was allready installed,
but I want to reinstall it)
the current installation stop working
but the setup doesn't detect my partition!

the setup detect the C and E, but the F which contain my current vista
install is not detected.
maybe its related, the current vista installation has stopped working
(winlogon file not found)

the last step I have done on my system is to format the last partition of my
drive, but I have removed the latest partition without better results.

what can I do?

Thanks.

Jerome.

Make sure the partition is marked active in the device manager of your base
system.

the partition is active, I have created a new blank one but the partition is
not displayed in the list
the installer display the C: (25Gb; 5Gb free)
and the E: (200Gb 8Gb free)
but in reality, the E: is a 50Gb partition, the F: (with my current vista
installation) is a 50Gb partition
and the new one H: is a 100Gb partition

So I have moved some documents from the E: to the H:, now my E partition has
20Gb free
The installer says that I can't install on the E: because the partition
contains dynamic partitions!!!!

I really don't understand why in the past the near same setup works fine.

It appears you have deleted (through formatting) the "F" partition. In My
Computer what drives are available?

A partition not appearing usually means that you need to supply the hard
disk controller driver for your system at the Load Drivers button.

How can you delete a partition by formatting it?

but can you explain why last week, before I add a partition, Vista works
fine.

remember I allready have installed Vista on the system without adding any
specific driver.
adding the partition #4 on the drive break vista and cause the installer to
no longuer detect correctly the partitions.

Jeje:
I remember reading something about Vista not seeing a partition
created or formatted using Acronis, but I can't find it. Assuming that your
C drive has an operating system installed, go into "disk management" to see
what is listed on your other drive and verify that the partitions are
formatted NTFS.

all my parttitions are NTFS formatted
and I don't use Acronis

I'll try to install a new physical disk on the system to see what's appends.

no luck

the 5536 (RC1) version suffer the same behavior, the setup doesn't detects
the drives.
I have installed a new one.
