I've just assembled a new configuration:
-Abit nf8 mmotherboard
-Amd athlon64 3000+
-Club3D GeForce 6800
-512MbRam kingston
-80Gb SAta HDD
-420W Chiftech

But I can't power it up. When I hit the power button all fans spin up,the hard drive spins up, but no beep and the screen is black. I've tryed clearing CMOS but the same thing happens. Please if anybody knows how to resolve this problem.....HELP!!!!! Anyone?

I already checked my graphics card,my cpu and ram on other board and it worked normaly. Any other advices?

If your M/B has 2 AGP Slots then try shifting the card. Try out the same with your RAM modules. Unless the PC gives the beep we have to assume that the M/B Slots are faulty. If M/B is ok then long beeps come if the graphics card is faulty or short beeps come if RAM is. ;) Hope it helps!

have you tried a different CPU, RAM, graphicsc card in it ? could be a dead motherboard

MATIJA - Hold down insert when you hit the power button. This will let it boot in safe mode. Alternatively, hitting the restart button immediately after you hit the power on button could fix it.

I had this problem with my shuttle PC. Its a feature of the CMOS failing to reset itself, usually caused by the motherboard getting too paranoid about heat. If you get the PC going, download MBM motherboard monitor to check if your PC isn't getting too hot - if you applied the thermal paste and everything yourself, maybe you used to much or too little? (thats where I went wrong).

If its not to do with the CMOS i'd be surprised. Unless you attached the hard drive cable the wrong way around or something! Make sure the red line on the cable is in line with the '1' on the socket!

Hope that helps.

When you put your motherboard in the case, did you screw those little brass spacers in?

If you dont have them it shorts the mobo and shuts down power to stop the computer frying.
