I can't play DVD's on my XP

I checked the device manager and the DVD is disabled, but when I try to enable it tye message I receive is that it was not able to do it. I am a novice in need. Please help if you can.

did you try reinstalling the drivers for your DVDROM drive?

Go to

http://www.dougknox.com/

Select 'Windows Utilies' and scroll down to 'Restore CD/DVD drives to
Windows Explorer.'
