I can't open attachments and it has nothing to do with google tool

I can't open any kind of document attachment from email or any site for that
matter and I keep getting a message saying the file is in use somewhere else,
the file is not convertable, or the file is corrupt.
I emailed myself a file that's already on my laptop and even it didn't open
in the email and the same message came up. Please help, I can't get through
college without opening attachments.

If you are using Symantec/Norton AntiVirus, try disabling the Office
Plugin that comes with it, but don't disable Norton AutoProtect. See
