Someone suggested I contact an Word or Office group.
Someone also suggested using word pad for now, which I
will (thank you) The error message I get is: WINWORD has
caused an error in WINWORD.EXE. Winword willnow close. If
you continue to experience problems, try restarting your
computer.
The nest dialog box says: The WORKS task Launcher canot
acces the task you selected. Files needed to start the
program may be missing, corrupted or may have been
delelted. To restore the files, reinstall the program,
and then try starting the program again.

I loaded Norton's 2004, scanned everything, unistalled all
of MS Suite and reinstalled it,and then even just WORD,
rescanned for viruses, restarted my computer, etc.

Any suggested will be greatly appreciated.

My school assignment will be due sooner than later:(:)

Thank you.
Ellen

The people who suggested the Office groups were right on - this is a Windows
2000 group. Also, if you don't use Works, uninstall it.

Ellen- Ms Word loads a default template
named "normal.dot", sometimes this template may become
corrupted, which will cause that error message. Go to your
start menu, click search for files or folders, and
type "normal.dot" into the search field. When the results
come up, delete all the files with that name. Then reboot
your computer. Word will re-create a "clean" version of
that template, and it should then work.
