I can't inset pictures into PowerPoint 2007

I get a message all of a sudden "an error occured while importing this file
C:/......" My OS is Vista.

HELP. I need to give a presentation!
 
Hi Mark

How are you adding the pictures and what file type are they? Oh and is it
only one file or all files (both picture & ppt)?
