I can't import my own spreadsheet, says I don't have permission(?.

I am trying to create a macro to import data from an Excel spreadsheet that I
created. When I run the macro I get a message that says that the spreadsheet
is either already open by another user or I don't have permission. I created
the spreadsheet myself on my own personal computer. Why will Access not let
me import that data?
 
Do you have the spreadsheet open when you are trying to import? If so, you
will get the message you described.
