It sounds like you are using Windows XP Home Edition. Unfortunately,
Offline Files will only work with the "Pro" edition OS's (Windows 2K
and XP Professional).

I'm using on XP Pro and 1 XP Home system. If I map the
network drive from the XP Home I seem to be able to enable
and sync via the XP Pro system - although this is a bit
backwards in my thinking in that my Pro system is the
desktop. is this a "stable" solution to mixing XP Pro and
Home for syncing?

Also, is there a limit in the number of GB you can sync?
I'm trying to sync about 10GB. Is there a better solution
for keeping photo archives in sync between my laptop and
desktop?

It doesn't matter what the server os is (be it WinXP, Win2K,
UNIX/Samba, MacOSX)... The only requirement for Offline Files is
Win2K/WinXP Pro or higher.
