I can't get rid of my icon backgrounds.

How does one get rid of the colored background under icon
texts? I have two computers, both run XP, and one of them
has that annoying background and the other does not. How
do I shake this?

Hi John,

Checkpoints to consider:

1) Right click on desktop >> arrange icons by >> uncheck "Lock Web items on desktop"

2) Right click on My Computer >> Properties >> Advanced tab >> Settings under 'Performance' >> check
"Use drop shadows for icon labels on desktop".
