I can't figure out how to share a printer on my home network.

I have run the setup wizard on the host computer and created a setup disk
for the second as it is Windows 98. The host computer is Windows XP Home.
The setup wizard worked well on both with no glitches and I have
successfully rebooted each machine.

I have a 2Wire wireless home router (portal). I can go into the program
files of 2Wire and pull up my network there and all is working. I can even
ping my second computer successfully. When I go into the network
neighborhood in Windows I do not see both computers.

Jerry,

Thanks, I would like to say too that I can share files just fine between the
two.

Can you give me an idea on how I check protocol for both machines?

Be sure the computers are using the same protocol
Either IPX/SPX or NETBEUI

Control panel, Network connections, right click Local area connection, click properties, scroll down and check - Netbios compatible transport protocol.
you should see the one installed.

Well, it seems as if I finally got my answer from HP today after a very
lengthy discussion. Apparently the model hp printer that I have is not able
to work with multiply OS . In my case my host is xp home and the client is
98. Bummer. Out I go to buy a better printer.

Do you have the printer shared on whatever computer its attached to?
