I cant enable agp fast write

it is enabled in the bios but to in the ati settings when i go to set it it
restarts and dosnt change it. i downloaded the newest drivers no change its
the radeon 9100 128

VIA chipset? ATI's SmartGart disables fast writes on most of those by
default. Fast writes makes very little performance difference, but can
compromise stability in some systems.

My advice? Don't sweat it.
 
Hmmm... I beg to disagree. I have no measurement that I gain anything with
FW enable, but my "feeling" is that everything runs smoother/ faster...
Since Cat 3.7 FW is disable on my rig with a 9500Pro.
And I have no idea how to get it enable again. No option in BIOS to change
it.
Hope somebody have a solution.

When you install the drivers it tests your system to see if it is
stable with faswrites on and if it deems it not then it gets disabled.
Mine is always set to on no matter which drivers I have used. It's
your mb manufacturers' fault and not the vid card.
