what to do

You have pressed PrtScn Button (for full screen) or Alt-PrtScn Buttons
(for active window), then tried to paste the image into an application
which can *receive* the image, e.g. Wordpad, Word, Paint, etc.?

i have done that all
the image never shows up any where i checked the clipboard
and nothing is there

Well - how are you doing it?

PRINT SCREEN will take a picture of the whole Desktop and
whatever happens to be open on it

ALT+PRINT SCREEN wiil take apicture of just the Active
Window

Having done that - go to Paint and Edit\Paste - Save As
whatever

Or you can Paste it into Word or WordPad

Jeff,
What kind of keyboard do you have? If you have one where "PrtScn" is shown
on the front side of the key, not the top, you may have to press the "Shift"
key to use the Print Screen function [you may have one where you access the
front of the key functions by pressing the "F Lock" key (Microsoft Office
Keyboard for one). Check it out.

About all I can think of is some nefarious program which prevents the
clipboard from working... recheck the clipbrd.exe application and read
its Help for clues.

I find it works best to have the app that I'm going to paste the image
to alredy open. If I PrtScn then open the app. The clipboard clears out
most of the time.
