Hi,
I'm running Windows XP Pro, SP3. I just did a fresh install of it two weeks
ago and I've been trying to disable autoruns following the instructions from
microsoft and there is no way to do it. I've installed KB 967715 which is
suppose to make it so that you can really disable the Autorun service.
First I tried using GPEDIT.MSC and there is no entry for "Turn off Autoplay"
on my computer. Then I checked the other settings tabs and it's not there
either. Next I tried using REGEDIT and where the key is suppose to be,
there is no "NoDriveTypeAutorun" entry at all. So it looks like after this
install of XP Pro, microsoft has taken control away from the user.
How can I fix this?
thanks,
Shaun
