Hi,

I've got a cable modem connection and although I've checked it with my ISP
and they told me that everything is working fine, I am not able to open a
single page in IExplorer. I get a "page not found error".
I've tried also with a dial up connection with the same result...it seems as
if I were working offline.
I'm using IE6 and Outlook Express 6 (with the same problem) in Windows
Millenium.

This began to happen after a crash, when my Norton Anivirus collapsed and my
Google bar dissappeared.
I'm neither using a firewall nor an Antivirus at this moment

Any help would be greatly appreciatted !

Emmy

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post
your log to http://aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30,
http://castlecops.com/forum67.html,
http://forums.subratam.org/index.php?showforum=7, or other appropriate
forums for expert analysis, not here.**

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.

Hi PA Bear

I forgot to tell that I was using Zone Alarm at the time of the crash.
I shut it down afterwards because I thought it would be the cause for me not
being able to access internet.
Thanks for your help

Missed the above. Re-enable NAV immediately (if you can do so; if not, it's
due to hijackware) and either re-enable ZA or enable the Windows Firewall.

To keep track of things, it helps immensely if you include all of previous
message(s) in your replies to the newsgroup. Thank you.

As NAV was not working I was asked (by Symantec, I supposed) to uninstall
and install again, but of course I couldn't. The uninstallation gave me many
errors and then the installation did not accept the key...???

Zonealarm was working all the time until I shut it down to see if that was
the problem. After this I shut down that PC.
Now I will re-enable ZA, and what else...as I know NAV will not work ?
Thanks !

| See Jon's reply, but you still may need to run a thorough check for
