I am unable to get Outlook 2003 to access my RoadRunner POP account from my
workstation. When I do a "test account settings" the request is cancelled
immediately. I can access my POP account from Outlook Express and from my
lap top Outlook 2003 client. I have reloaded Office, removed .net, removed
all virus protection and firewall protections and still this computer will
not access my POP account. This is not a an easy question to answer. The
only thing I have not done is remove XP Pro SP2.

HI Al,
so it seems, that your account settings are uncorrect.
Please try to contact your isp to get the right pop/smtp settings!

There is nothing wrong with my account settings. I am able to use the same
settings in Outlook Express and in Outlook 2003 on my laptop. This would
indicate I know what the settings are and can set them correctly. When I try
to test them with the Outlook 2003 in my workstation, it quickly comes back
with request cancelled and no indication of error. There is something wrong
with the configuration of Outlook or TCP/IP in this machine that prevents it
from working and I am at a loss to discover what it is.

Slegg13,

I have not found a solution to this problem, I have only found others with
the problem. I have refresshed, XP, uninstalled Office 2003, and many other
things, with no results. I have also tried other accounts on that computer
and still no luck.

If anyone can fix this, there are lots of us who would be grateful. I have
been unable to use OUTLOOK with a pop mailer for 5 months. I can use Outlook
express, Netscape, or Forte agent mailers.
