I have a Dell Dimension 8200 with Windows XP. I was unable to communicate
with my printer, so I did the steps it told me to do (unplug printer, unplug
USB, restart computer) and none of those worked. Then it said to uninstall
the printer. I did that and it asked me to restart the computer. When I did
that I can't get into Windows. The computer tried to run checkdisk but I
interrupted it because it had run that earlier in the day and took so long I
didn't want to wait on it the second time. It looks like it is trying to
start but kicks me out into a black and white screen with 5 options: start
Windows normally, start Windows with the configuration that worked, and three
safe mode options. None of these worked. I tried to find a boot disk, but I
am unable to locate it.

Can anyone help me get on Windows? Can I use a boot disc from another Dell
computer? If so, how do I create it? I looked in the control panel but
couldn't figure out how to create one with my laptop.

Thanks for any help.

Try to reset the BIOS on the machine to factory settings and Reboot, does it
help?
If that doesn't help we need an error message to work on or best if you took
the machine to your local Repair shop for help.
