My movie is finished, but when I click on "Finish Movie," the Finish Movie
Wizard says it cannot save my movie. I know I have enough disc space, and
the source files are all there and intact, so I have no idea what to do.
John Inzer has been incredibly helpful with a variety of issues as I use this
impossible program. I can't believe I am 99% there and trapped! Thanks for
any help and advice. (BTW, my source files were .VOB and I changed them to
..AVI to work in MM--should I change them back?)

I have the same issue in vista ultimate. This is regardless how long I
capture the movie ...

Most WMM problems are due to incompatible source files. How did you convert
your .vob files to .avi (what program did you use for the conversion, and
what codec was used in the conversion). You should not change your source
files back to .vob, because WMM will not work properly with .vob files as
such. A good place to start is to see if you have incompatible source
(video and/or audio) files. Try this URL (which applies to both XP and
Vista):

http://www.myvideoproblems.com/Tutorials/MovieMaker/File_type_compatibility.htm

Another trick that sometimes works is to uncheck the boxes in Movie Maker|
Tools| Options| Compatibility.

Be aware that there are over 800 different avi file types and only dv.avi
works with MM.
Most conversion apps convert to divx, so I recommend converting to wmv.
