I went to the microsoft site for help and was told I could e-mail a question, but they gave no e-mail address!!! That is a good way to keep their work load down

At another microsoft site they said I could have free advice but I had to give them the product #, which I have to do by opening the software--but the problem is I can't load it in the first plac

I bought Powerpoint 2002 last year for my previous computer, a Dell laptop—although I had Powerpoint on it, the 2002 version is vastly better.
Now I purchased an HP Pavilion laptop with Windows XP Office , but I took the option of not including Powerpoint, since I already had purchased the software.
But when I try to load it, after I give all the information including the product key # , I get the message that “no appropriate†software can be found. I tried several times, and so did a friend, who knows computers pretty well, and always the same results.

Thankyou

Robert Mc

Sounds like you bought an "upgrade" version which relies on a previous version
to work
Pruduct# and product key # are the same thing

Greetings --

That specific error message means that you purchased an Upgrade
version of PowerPoint. This means that you _must_ have an earlier
version of PowerPoint already installed in order to perform the
upgrade. This should have been clearly stated upon the packaging and
upon the installation CD itself.
