I cannot launch HP Imaging program

Hi,
After installing MS Office 2003 I cannot launch HP Imaging program for
scanning images. Nothing happens when I try. Even if I double click on the
..exe file, it doesn't help.

Is this a known issue?

I tried to uninstall the scanner driver and the imageing program belonging
to it, but something went wrong and the uninstall was not finsihed properly.
It is not possible to reinstall or update the scanner driver and the
imageing program. I seems that some old files are still in the machine.

How can I go around this problem?

To me it seems that it's an issue for Office, Windows XP and HP software.
The problem was created after installing Office 2003, which includes a new
function for controlling the scanner from inside Office 2003.

Since the Office has been around for going on 4 years, I wonder what HP
is having to say about it?

The order of installation is irrelevant, but have you tried reinstalling the
HP software?

Yes. I have spent a lot of time on it and tried all tricks, but it is still
not resolved.

Hi again,
As HP informs, this is a known issue. It is a compatibility problem between
HP Director and MS Internet Explorer 7 that causes the problem.

HP stated:
"The root problem is that HP Director doesn't display its window because the
JavaScript window resize call is blocked by Internet Explorer 7".
