I recently exported my contact file to a .csv file because I had a problem
with my computer and the hard drive had to be reformatted. Now that I am back
up and running, Outlook cannot import the .csv file it originally exported. I
received a message saying the file was not recognized. It went on to say that
the "Comma Separated Values (Windows) translator was unable to recognize this
file. It could be the wrong file, a version of the file type that is not
supported by this translator, or the file might be corrupt."
I was able to open the file in Excel, so I saved it as an Excel file and
tried to import that into Outlook. I then received an error stating that the
file has "no named ranges. Use Microsoft Excel to name the range of data you
want to import." I'm not sure how to do that.
I have Office XP (Outlook 2002 SP3 version). Any ideas why I cannot import
the .csv file Outlook created back into it? Or can some tell me how to import
the Excel file I created from it. I don't want to have to recreate almost 300
contacts.
Thanks in advance.
