I recently bought a DELL laptop with Office Professional installed.
The REPORTS section of Access does not seem to work!
When you "click" on Design View" nothing happens.

Note that Forms Design View seems OK.

Thanks,

Bill,

Have you got a default printer installed? If not install
one (even if it doesn't really exist). Sometimes Access
needs a printer when playing with reports ..... ?????!

I had posted the same question in another post and happened upon your answer.

My problem is solved. I had a network printer at home as default printer
(while laptop was on the network at work). Hence it was hanging up. Solved
by changing default to local printer (also unplugged) as you suggested and
works great. This way I can commute on the train and still view reports.
Thanks bunch! You're a life saver! Sometimes it's the simple things.

Terry,

You are right! It has something to do with the printers.
My laptop's default is the network computer in my office.

When I changed my default computer to something else and tried Reports
Design mode, it came right up.

I'm not sure how to resolve the problem but at least I know the cause.

Thanks again,
Bill

rowiga,

I did have some reports in my database.

The problem seems to lay in the default printer selection.

Thanks,
Bill
