I cannot empty deleted item in Outlook

I have Windows XP sp1 with outlook XP. It seems like I do not have access to
the deleted item folder. I can't recover, delete or delete e-mail nor can I
empty the deleted item folder. When I select a deleted e-mail and press the
delete botton, Outlook hangs and I have to terminate my Outlook session. We
are using MS Exchange 2003 server with SP2 on Windows 2003 server with sp1.

Can someone help me?

Sounds like an issue you should direct to your Exchange admins.
