Madison's Legacy

On the Windows 2000 or millenium edition desktop, I
mistakenly enlarged the desktop beyond the borders of the
screen.

I can no longer read the check boxes or click on relevant
buttons to change the screen size back to a format that
allows me to view all items on the desktop.

At best I am able to view 1/3 of everything that should be
on the screen. There are no hardware problems to the best
of my knowledge. All cables are properly connected.
System Restore does not return the "active desktop" to its
normal, readable condition.

Even when I scroll up or down, or right or left on the
scroll bar to move around on the desktop, I can only view
part of the screen. I have also tried using the mouse
keys to correct the problem, but to no avail.

All I need to do is read the appropriate boxes on the
screen settings or desktop settings from the control
panel. I generally right click on the active desktop, and
come to "Change the active desktop" or such as that, but I
cannot see the all of the relevant buttons and data boxes
into which I would enter information to return the desktop
view to normal.

What do I do to restore my screen and desktop to normal?

You have to use the keyboard keys to move the dialogue boxes so that you can
access the buttons and alter yr settings - afraid I cannot remember the
appropriate keys.

Greetings --

Press and release <ALT>+<SPACE> and then press <M>. You can now
use the cursor arrow keys to move the display settings dialog window
back to the desired location. When the box is located where you want
it, press <Enter>.
