I can Recieve mails but not send.

Hi,
I would appreciate any help anyone could offer me, please bare with me I
only have basic PC skills (or lack of)
I've bought a new laptop with Vista installed, using winmail I can recieve
mails but not send, although they do appear to be to have sent, i.e they are
not in the outbox and are showing in the sent items folder. I have read and
tried the advice from other posts regarding simillar issues but with no
avail. I ran the WMUTIL software from some of the other posts, I have
disabled e mail scanning and have just uninstalled norten anti virus and
installed windows one care but still have no joy. I have checked and re
checked the servers entered in the configs. I am able to send e mails from a
web based page so am confident I'm having problems with winmail and not my e
mail account.

Are you sure?
They are not in the OUTBOX but are in the SENT dir?
If this is true they are being sent ok, if they were remaining in the OUTBOX
it would indicate an error.

Try sending yourself an email & see if it gets through.

They are definitely in the sent folder and not in the outbox. I have tried
to send numerous mails to myself but no joy, if i send from the web i recieve
my own mails in winmail, but cannot send to myself or anyone else from
winmail.

Check that your server settings are correct for outgoing mail.
 
Hi,
I've checked the servers and they are correct, they are the ones supplied by
my IP:

incoming : pop.tiscali.co.uk
outgoing: smtp.tiscali.co.uk
 
We have reports from several others about this issue.
The common factor is that the ISP is Tiscali. It appears to be
an ISP server issue.
