Windows mail has recently been having trouble sending mail. I can recieve
it, but can't send. I recently added a wireless router to my home, and when
the computer is plugged into the router, I can't send. If the computer is
plugged directly into the modem, I can send. When using other web-based
e-mail accounts, I can send just fine. The problem is only with Windows
Mail. Here's the error message.

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Subject 'Re: Netgear Router part 2', Account: 'Road Runner High

Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

One doesn't normally "plug into" a wireless router because that defeats
the purpose of going wireless. If your connection is indeed wireless,
is it possible that you are inadvertently connecting to a neighbor's
wireless router?

I got therouter for other computers in my household. Is there some
interference between Windows Mail and the router that could cause this
problem?

No, I'm not aware of Windows Mail having any problems with a router.

Your error message mentions "unexpected" termination. That type of
problem is usually caused by interference from a non-compatible
antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.

Email scanning in any antivirus must be disabled, for reasons
explained here:

If no improvement after disabling email scanning, consider upgrading
to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to suffering bad effects
from overly intrusive antivirus programs:

I'm running webroot anti-virus with anti-spyware. I turned off the e-mail
scan and that seemed to fix the problem. Is this to to be a potential
problem with viruses on my computer?
