I can only open a connection with the web by opening MSN--

when I try through IE, I'm told that an internet connection is not detected.
When I open through MSN, everything is fine. My IE used to work fine, then
one day it just stopped. I just don't understand why? I've checked
"connections" and selected "to automatically" detect connection (or however
it's worded) and I have no idea how to fix this. Can anyone help please?

Find out how it's worded. Precision matters.

If you're referring to having checked

Automatically detect settings

in an Automatic configuration section of a settings dialog
and you don't have a proxy server to provide settings,
having anything checked there would be an error
and might cause delays or the symptom you are complaining about.


WPAD is a keyword you could use for more information about the feature.

and I have no idea how to fix this. Can anyone help please?
