I've just upgraded Vista Beta 2 to RC1. The upgrade seems to have completed
properly. (no error messages)

I can connect to google.ca but not google.com. What gives??
I can't connect to Yahoo at all, nor can I connect to Pro-networks.org.
I've tried several other URLs with mixed results. I can't even log in to my
router.
I've looked through the IE7 settings and there doesn't seem to be anything
there. I have all Windows security turned off.
I have two other PCs in my network, both running XP SP2. They are still
operating normally. I can connect to all websites and my router. So this
appears to be a Vista problem.
Any suggestions?

Thanks

Alex

I am broadband connected via a Linksys Wireless 802.11g router. I am hard
wired to the router. Beta 2 worked perfectly.

Anyone else run into this problem?

Hello,

This may be an issue with your router where it is not handling traffic
comming from your Vista computer correctly.

Here's some options:

- Upgrade the firmware on your router
- Disable the SPI firewall on your router
- Make Windows Vista act like XP does networking-wise:

- Click start
- Type: cmd
- Right-click CMD.exe under programs and click Run As Administrator
- Type: netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
- Press enter
- Restart computer

Thanks Jimmy,
I kept hunting around and found a thread over at Pro-Networks that talked
about network adapter drivers. Specifically, the Yukon Gigabit Lan adapters.

I grabbed their beta Visat RC1 drivers. This solved the problem completely.
Thanks again for responding.

Thanks Jimmy,
I was able to resolve my problem. I found a thread over on Pro-Networks
about drivers for the Marvell Yukon Gigabit Lan adapter. This fixed my
problem completely.
Thanks again for the reply.

Thanks Alex for posting your solution - just had the same problem on moving
from Beta2 to RC1, and the new Marvell Yukon driver fixed it like a charm.

Very strange how you can get to some sites, but not others (like google.com !)

To Microsoft: This may not play well with the public if this stays like
this for release...
