Hi folks,

Two weeks ago, I got a mail from Microsoft (I thought it
was MS) regarding a critical patch to download . After
checking the site (looked real) I downloaded from the
site the patch .

The reality was completely different . Since that time, I
became a spammer. The next morning I got 2 returned mail
advice for adresses I never heard of. The nightmare had
started ! Today, I got at least one hundred returned mail
everyday . I can't imagine what will happen in twoo wekks
time. Beside the legal problem, my PC and my email
accounts are mainly for business use . You can imagine !

If somebody has a solution, I will be very grateful .

Have a good day, folks,

Michel

And it took you TWO WEEKS to realise all this?
What AV program have you got and is it up to date?

Do a google search for swen virus.

I always wondered what happened if you fell for that one - Sorry this does
not help!!

The first thing you should do is to be sure your machine is clean to be sure
you are not SENDING spam messages.
Someone else's machine has probably been infected and has your email address
in the address book. The worm sends many messages to random addresses using
your return address so you get the reject messages.
In MS Outlook, you can define a filter to reject messages based on rules.
Examine the headers of a few of the messages to see if you can find a phrase
that is present in most of them. You can then use the rule wizard to define
a rule to absolutely delete any message containing that phrase.
Good luck, Hugh
