After a reinstallation of WindowsXP pro I managed to get all my devices and
some of my printers working.

However two old-style printers are not working and these are:
FujitsuDL5800,
Epson FX-100,
I have downloaded drivers from the internet but I cannot get any response
from them.

I notice that both these printers are both connected to a single network
card and I wonder if anyone can tell me how to get me started.

Please help, Frank

PS: In the "Device Manager" screen there are two yellow question marks at
"Other devices" and the related "PCI Simple Communications Controller."

Neither of those appear to be network printers, so I'm puzzled about your
comment that they're both connected to the same network card. You might want
to take another look at what you've got going there. They both should be
parallel printers. And chances are, you've only got one parallel port on
your computer, unless you added a second one. Or, are these printers
connected to something else that is in turn connected to your computer?

And most network cards have only one connection. Some are dual cards, but
that's besides the point.

The Simple Communications Controller is your modem. You need to install
drivers, if you intend on using it. Otherwise you can disable it, physically
remove it, if it's a separate card, or just ignore it.

Thanks. I took out the card from the slot and saw that the Chip on the back
had the following:

NetMosTechnology
Nm 9715CV
F3439-0010118
Card FC KWE 220N-2

I found the NetMos site (in India) and downloaded the driver, and then the
LPT2 & LPT3 appear in the "Device Manager Screen".

Then I easily installed the printers, one to LPT2 & the other to LPT3.

I guess the card generates virtual LPT ports.

No doubt modern systems do it all with USB2 connections!

My mistake, they are connected to a printer card NetMos Nm9715CV F3439-001.
This has refused to work since the crash.
