I am receiving the above error message and need to reboot the system in order
to get this to go away. Anyone know how to resolve this without rebooting

have a look at http://support.microsoft.com/?id=840872.

I have also read that if you end the Rdpclip.exe task in task manager can
clear this error

I have rebooted the system to correct the problem.
The listed program does not appear in the task manger.
I will check next time the error occurs.

Thanks for the response

I have this problem almost every time I begin to use Excel 2003 (on XP). Some
spreadsheets seem to have it immediately after I open them.

The Rdpclip.exe task is NOT active in the task manager.

Excel is running standalone - no networking, servers, or terminal emulation.

Clearing the clipboard, Microsoft's only suggestion, has no effect on the
problem.

The problem is extremely inconvenient, doubling the time and effort it takes
to move cells, etc.

Please advise.

I also do not have that task running, my clipboard is completely clear and it
doesn't matter if I select the copy/ paste icons or ctrl+c/ ctrl+v. It
appears to be completely random for me. Sometimes all I have to do is close
out of excel and reopen it and other times I have to reboot. I'm also using
2003 w/ XP.
