i am new to creating a dvd with a cdr

i have bought Nero and want to create dvd's of my home movies and stuff.

what i am stuck with is, what format to i have to store them on the cdr's?
is it MPG or can i store them in WMV (Window Media Player) or do i have to
have something else done before it goes to the cd?

the original files are in WMV that i have made up with Window Movie Maker
version 2

hey jason, you can burn movies to cd's in Video cd format and a couple
of others and watch them on your tv , but to have good quality dvd
image you will need a dvd burner. you can "store" them as either mpg or
wmv but you will be able to watch them only on your pc.
