Hi, Richard.
I am getting a read-only copy of my access database when exported to my cd
burner
After you copy the database file to your laptop, open Windows Explorer and
navigate to the directory where the file is now located. Right-click on the
name of the database file and select "Properties" from the pop-up menu to
open the Properties dialog window. Uncheck the "Read-only" attribute, then
select the "OK" button to save your change. You should now be able to open
the file to write data.
Don't use the Windows Briefcase with Access database files. It isn't
compatible with "updated files" because the database engine handles database
replication, not the Briefcase.
HTH.
Gunny
