FrobinRobin

I'm running the default settings for this set up: 200 fsb x11
(2200Mhz) @ 1.5v. which should = 2200Mhz

The system will always reports this incorrectly and my cpuz shows: 211
fsb x10.5 (2100Mhz) @ 1.55v = 2215.5Mhz

So a slight overclock whether I like it or not!

The boot problem is usually the same regardless of my BIOS settings,
this doesnt happen with my (trusty ole) ata drive which is same
mfr/model as the SATA.

Does anyone have any experiences like this?
or does anyone have a SK8 with the AMD 64 FX?
What about my boot problem... PLEEEEASE HELP!

Oddly enough, you didn't mention what the "boot problem" is.

Sorry !! (I've posted many times on this and I'm getting frustrated)

The boot problem is with the Via VT8237 SATA controller (or so I
beleive)

The thing is that, the system hangs for 30 seconds after identifying
the SATA disk - Then reports system POST successful before booting
into operating system.

This does not happen with my PATA drive which is the same mfr/model.

Any idea's?

It sounds like it's searching for other devices. Go into the bios and
wherever you don't have a drive installed, change it from "Auto" to
"default." That way it won't spend time trying to detect things that aren't
present. Just remember that you changed it if you add another drive, or
you'll be wondering why the computer doesn't detect it.
