Hypothetical Question

Does anyone know what the impact could be if you disable/switch off the
insert attachment feature in OL2003 (using Exchange 2003).

It may sound odd. But I am trying to get the bigger picture.

My assumption is if you switch off attachment you would no longer be able to
send hyperlinks either and if it is switched off you do not have the option
to allow external attachments only?
Any thoughts gratefully received.

Of course you can still send hyperlinks - there are other methods for doing this besides "insert."

As for your second question, I doubt it would have any effect on incoming mail since it is a client setting, not a server side setting.

Many thanks.

Is there anyway of disabling the option of sending attachments internally
i.e. to any staff on the GAL to force them to do hyperlinks?

I assume if you do switch off the Insert, Attachment option it will not
allow you to send a external attachment as the Insert option would be an all
or nothing function?

Anyone can still drag and drop an attachment to the email. There is nothing you can do to prevent it except have management issue an edict that covers what you want to do.
