On a system board that supports either hyperthreading or
non-hyperthreading cpu's is the following possible?
Is it true that if a OS (XP-Pro, W2K-Pro, W2K-Srvr) is
installed with a non-hyperthreading CPU (single or dual)
and you swap CPU(s) for a hyperthreading model the OS
will need to be re-installed?
Case in question I have a couple XP-Pro workstations and
a W2K server which I would like to upgrade the CPU's
since $$ have gone done a bit but I was told this is not
possible unless I redo each machine with clean installs.
Thanks
