hyperlinks

I am inserting hyperlinks that link to bookmarks within
the same document. When the hyperlinks is clicked, the
cursor moves to the bookmark, but the screen doesn't move
to the new area. Obviously my end-users would like to see
what they thought they were hyperlinking to.

Jeffrey,
My client insists on using Word for their process
documents (another story), but I am trying to keep them
online instead of printing a copy for every user. In
order to make it easier for the users to step through the
process (i.e. no scrolling) I am using hyperlinks and
bookmarks. Does that answer your question? I appreciate
any alternatives you have for me.

BTW: Long-term solution is to have HTML docs, but that is
months away.

Thanks,
Rick

Rick, have you tried a standard goto? See if it goes to the page. If it
does, you can use gotos instead of hyperlinks. If not, it might help narrow
down what's up. What page view are they in?

VERY INTERESTING!

The same behavior occurs with goto, but if I change the view (from Print
Layout, which is what I normally use) to Normal or Web Layout, the problem
goes away.

Do you know a way to protect a doc so that the users can't change the view?

Thanks,
Rick

Hi Rick,

What is the build number of Word in Help=>About where
you're seeing (or rather not seeing) Word making the
destination visible on the screen when going to a hyperlink?
