I want to set up a page with (say) four objects. I want to be able to click
on an object and be taken to a specific slide or set of slides (i.e. a
hypelink which I can do).

When the slide show reaches the end of the specific slide or set of slides
for that object, I want it to return to the slide with the original four
objects so I can click some or all of the other object before the show moves
to the next slide.

Any ideas/help much appreciated.

Thanks
Andy

Create your hyperlinks to the requires slides as you would do normally.

You can then create action buttons to link back to the original slide you
want to be at. The action buttons are found in the slideshow menu.

The buttons are visible in the presentation, so you might want to look at
something that can disguise them.

Just been playing a bit more with it and this might be a better way than i
mentioned before.

If you have a graphic or logo or something that is prominent on each slide
you can create you first hyperlink as normal to the required slide.

You then create a box around an object (anything it doesn't matter what)
that is familiar to you using the drawing toolbar at the bottom of the
screen. You then fill the colour with the "No Fill" option and turn off the
colour for the lines.

Next, make sure the box is still selected and from the draw menu on the
drawing toolbar, select "order" and either "send to the back" or "send
backwards" so it sits behind the object you have chosen and is visible when
the slide show is run.

Next create your hyperlink in the normal way ensuring that on both hyperlink
occasions you choose the "Place in this document" option.

Worked ok for me just now

While the method suggested will work there is a better way. Create a custom
show for each o the 4 "hyperlink sections" - Slide Show > Custom Shows > new
(add the slides and give each a suitable name so they are easy to recognise)

Now hyperlink to "custom show", choose the correct name and tick "show and
return" Repeat for other shapes.

When the custom show slides have played it will auto return to the "menu"
page.

Did that answer the question / help?
