I am trying to establish a hyperlink to a file that is read only. When
I close the file the message tells me taht the file is read only and
can not save my change.

What can I do?

Please help

Ed

What kind of file??
By any chance is it a word doc that is set to automatically update a date field each time it
is opened??
If so, remove the automatic date field.

No, as site visitors can not write files back to your web site.
