Hi,
I'm sure this topic has been around a few times but I have not found the
exact answer I'm looking for.

I know that to link to a specific page in a pdf document, I do this:
http://example.pdf#page=7

My problem is that with Internet Explorer, this only seems to work the first
time this link is executed in the browser. If I scroll around in the document
and then execute the same hyperlink again the document opens at the page I
left it before, not the page specified in the link.

How can you tell Internet Explorer to ALWAYS open the pdf document at the
page specified in .....#page=?
Is there a menu setting to do this?

I'm using IE 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_rtm

Thanks,
Axel.

Hi Axel,

There are no IE settings for this. Navigation to a page in a PDF document is
controled by the PDF plug-in that renders the document inside IE. Since the
doc is already loaded the page parameter is ignored when you click the
hyperlink. There should be a page no or bookmark control on the PDF Plug-in
toolbar to allow you to navigate back to your original starting point.

Regards.

Hello Rob,
Thanks for your reply...
I was looking for a page no or bookmark control on the PDF Plug-in toolbar
to allow you to navigate back to your original starting point, but I was not
able to find any...

I can't believe something so "simple" is not possible in IE....

Mozilla Firefox behaves exactly as expected, opening the page specified in
the hyperlink every time, no matter where you are in the document... :-(

Any other clues from anyone?

Thanks,
Axel.
