I currently use PowerPoint 2000, so what I hope to do might be accomplished
in later versions. I would like to be able to create a hyperlink (on the
master page) to a custom show that, when activated, will change in
appearance (i.e. color of text) during the custom show. This would help
remind viewers what custom show they are currently viewing. Leaving that
custom show would change the hyperlink back to the original appearance. The
specific presentation I'm working with is distributed on an autorun cd
(thank you Sonia!).

Is there a relatively simple way to do this? mike

The color of the hyperlink is controlled by the Color Scheme. Go to Format
Slide Color Scheme > Custom and you'll see two color settings - - "Accent
and Hyperlink" and "Accent and followed hyperlink". The first is what the
hyperlink will be originally. The second reflects that the hyperlink has
been "used". It will tell the user what custom shows they have already
viewed, but that won't be useful in your case because users won't be able to
see it while they are viewing the custom show. I would recommend that you
use a different technique.

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
