to whom may be able to provide some guidance, I am not a
real PC person so I am not sure what I am looking at but
in several instances when I hold the mouse over a
hyperlink and press the button I do nbot get directed to
a browser and associated link. My son was here on the
weekend and loaded AOL 9.0 and now all of the URL's go to
the Documents and Settings folder rather than going to a
browser and link,,,, I have already removed the AOL
package but I am not sure what to do next?

Here's something you can try. Go to Control Panel and double click on
Add/Remove Programs. Go down the list until you see Microsoft Internet
Explorer. Click it once with your mouse to highlight it. Then near the
bottom, click on Add/Remove. A pop-up menu will appear giving you the option
to run Repair. Hope that works for you.
