Hyperlinks in PPT Viewer

I have inserted a hyperlink to a website in a ppt presentation (PPT 2003).
When I use the PPT viewer to check the presentation, the hyperlink does not
bring me to the web page. It brings up the internet but it is a blank page.
When I view the presentation in the slideshow mode in PPT 2003, it brings up
the website with no problems. Any reason the Viewer does not bring up the
hyperlink like the actual program does?
One suggestion was that it was part of a grouped object but it is not. It is
the only text in a text box.
Please help!

Thank you for the link. I went there and found that the Viewer has some
limitations I was unaware of. However, the limitation of the hyperlink is not
the same problem I'm having. The link said Viewer will not link to a
bookmark. The hyperlink I had was not to a bookmark. As a test I put a simple
hyperlink in there (www.google.com) and it still brought nothing up.
Any additional help?
