hyperlinks in email messages fail

When I click on hyperlinks in Outlook 2007 email, there is an error message
and link does not open a webpage in IE 7.0.

Which is...?

Most likely you'll need to reset your browser as the default again in
Windows.
 
I have the same issue. the error message is " General Failure.The url was:"
then it gives the url then " Application not found"

I also have the same issue in Yahoo chat. I cant open anything like
profiles. It wont access the internet

I don't know what you mean by that in relation to accessing the Internet.
 
I use Firefox as my browser. I have set it as the default browser in Windows
Vista. I had not problem with this issue for the one year + that I have
had Outlook 2007, but just developed the problem with OL not opening
hyperlinks. I get the same message as below: " General Failure.The url
was:" then it gives the url then " Application not found".

I rechecked to make sure that Firefox is identified as the default browser.

I would welcome any other ideas.
