When I click on a hyperlink in an Outlook email message, a dialog box opens
titled "Open Link Browser". Under this, the "look in" box shows "My
documents" . The "file name" box is blank and under that "Files of type"
shows "Executable. I've tried "Repair and Restore" with no luck.
Suggestions?

Hi Ron,
try to reset your web settings
IE > Tools > Internetoptions > Programms

Andreas
I did check under Tools/InternetOptions/Programs. HTML Editor is shown as
Microsoft Front Page, Email, Calendar and Contacts are shown as Microsoft
Office Outlook and Internet call is shown as Net Meeting. The listing for
Newsgroups is blank. So I don't really see anything wrong with the Programs
settings. Thanks,
Ron

Hi Ron,
please use the button,
reset web settings!

Thanks Andreas,
I did check the reset web settings button, but I still get the same message
in Outlook: Locate Link Browser, etc as before. The only thing I can see
that checking this button did was to set my default search engine back to MSN
and I had to reset it to Google, but that really has no bearing on the
problem I'm having with not being able to open web pages from within Outlook
email hyperlinks. The only way I'm able to open hyperlinks is to right click
on the hyperlink, click on view source and copy the web URL located within
the source and then paste the URL into a new IE window. Any other ideas?

The solution to the problem was, as usual, quite simple. When the message:
Locate Link Browser appeared (when I clicked on hyperlinks in emails), I just
browsed to the Internet Explorer executale file under Program Files, opened
it in the Find Link Browser and now the hyperlinks work as they should. It
just occurred to me today to try that and it worked!

Well, then, entyer the path tot he browser you wish to use. For example, if
you wish to use Internet Explorer, enter C:\Program Files\Internet
Explorer\Iexplorer.exe in that dialoguie box.

Thanks Brian,
This same solution had occurred to me the day before...it's always the most
obvious thing..well, not always, but in this case it was. Thanks,
Ron
