Hyperlinks - Character Limitations

It appears that the maximum number of characters allowed for a hyperlink in PowerPoint is 250. Is there anyway to add URL's that are longer than this? Any help would be much appreciated.

Note -> I posted this same question earlier in the week and have not been able to find the thread. I believe that I might have posted the original question incorrectly. I apologies for the duplicate post if the original was actually posted.

Different types of links seem to have different limitations as to total length.
Some are as short as 120-some-odd characters. It may vary by PPT version
also.

There's no setting I know of that lets you alter the max length. Best bet, if
possible, is simply to keep your path and filenames short for this reason (and
other good reasons)

If that's not possible, perhaps a tinyurl.com link might solve the problem for
you?

Hello,

PowerPoint doesn't provide the functionality (use longer URL's) that you
are looking for.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that it's important that
PowerPoint provide this kind of functionality, don't forget to send your
feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).
