Hyperlinking to Network Folder

In a word document (like an index) I link to the PDF file in a network
folder. The link works just fine except when it opens the folder for you to
choose the file you are linking to, it doesn't default to "All Files(*.*).
Does anyone know how to change the default?

could you describe exactly how you created this hyperlink? Plus, with
the cursor in the link, click SHIFT-F9 and give us the field code.
