Hi,

everytime I create a Hyperlink in Powerpoint it is underlined, I can turn it
off by creating a text box for each link i create. But I need to find a way
to turn it off for normal text without creating a text box. Can you help me?

Any help is greatly appreciated,

Cheers,

Markus

Hi Michael,

thank you very much for your help! Unfortunately I cannot use the solution provided, I have to come up with a manual for a big bank explaining the normal user how to insert links into Powerpoint 97 and if 4000 people try to manage their invsible buttons, that would cause some havoc :)

I am searching since 2 days for a solution, even bought a Poweropint Book by MS Press and cvould not find a solution, i am close to study VB maybe there is something to do against the underline

Cheers,

Markus

Markus,

Have you tried using "action settings"?

Right click anything...choose "action settings", on click, hyperlink to: http://www.yahoo.com

I find it's best to add the action setting to an autoshape....then add the text in the autoshape by pressing F2 later. Then no underline is visible

One thing I have done in this situation is create a transparent box and lay
it over the text. Then give that transparent object the hyperlink
properties.

This is how I achieve a hyperlink with no underline.

1 Draw a rectangle
2 Right click...assign the action settings > hyperlink > OK
3 Then Press F2 to edit the autoshape...type in text
4 Result ....no underline

In PPT 2002, you can turn this off in Tools/Autocorrect/"hyperlinks"
yada yada.

In 97, you'd have to turn off all the autocorrect options, I think, by
deselecting "replace text as you type." Not positive that will do the
trick, though.

I don't think you can turn off the underlining for hyperlinks applied
directly to text, Wilma (or Markus?)

Hello Markus,

PowerPoint does not currently have the capability that you are looking for.
Hyperlink text is always indicated with an underline and color change taken
from the color scheme for the slide.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) have some suggestions about
what options PowerPoint should provide for the handling and formatting of
hyperlink text, don't forget to send your feedback to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions)
