Hyperlink to Word or Excel

When I apply a hyperlink from PowerPoint to Word or Excel, the Word or Excel
document displays really large (almost like in safe mode).

This just started happening recently.

Check in Slide show > Set up show

Is "slide show resolution" set to something other than your current screen
resolution?
