I have a report with two hyperlinks that I then print to a
PDF (Acrobat 6).

The hyperlinks are not active in the PDF created this way.

If I first export to Word one of the hyperlinks is active
and if I then print to PDF from Word that one hyperlink is
active in the PDF.

1)Is there a way to print directly to PDF from Access and
have the hyperlinks work?
2)Is there any reason why one hyperlink and not the other
works when exported to Word? I can't seem to discern any
difference between the two hypeflink fields, but I'll keep
looking!
Any assistance much appreciated.

Ira:

1.) Make sure that your hyperlinks are in standard internet form as in
www.microsoft.com rather than using a display value other than the actual
url or link like mailto:[email protected]

2.) Some PDF printer drivers (i.e. not Adobe's) like Win2PDF
(www.daneprairie.com)
and pdfFactory (www.fineprint.com) can convert hyperlinks when the reports
are printed from Access by reading the hyperlink as the report is printed.
This normally requires that the driver be set to convert the hyperlinks, but
thats a simple check box in the printer preferences.

3.) If you are using the Adobe Acrobat drivers, or either of the drivers
noted above, our PDF and Mail Library will allow you to convert hyperlinks
displayed in Access reports to PDF Links when the report is converted to a
PDF file. It also allows you to automate the output process in code.
You'll find it on our web.
