In my Explorer jpg files are asscoiated with Irfanview, but when I hyperlink
to a jpg file in Excel, PhotorEditor is used for opening then file . I have
tried changing the association to PhotoShop in Explorer, but the hyperlink
seems to overrule this. Is there anyway I can change this? That is make
hyperlinks open with the program I decide, not Excel.

Using Win XP Pro and Excel XP.

Many thanks, I guess I was just staring at it for too long and missing the
obvious.
Kind regards,

Hej Harald

Been there; Done that. No Good.

Excel still opens hyperlinks with Phoptoeditor.

I even tried to rename photoed.exe to something else, before trying my
hyperlink. This just makes Windows trying to install it, asking for my
Office CD :-(

Incredible. Does Windows Explorer open the program of your choice when you
click a jpg file ?

Best wishes Harald

It does. Clicking on a jpg file from the Explorer, opens Irfanview or
whatever programme I associate, but no matter what, the hyperlink always
uses PhotoEditor.

By the way, now that I've looked into itm, sp does hyperlinks in Word,
PowerPoint and Access too.
